To be in Khanty-Mansiysk means to learn a lot of interesting things about the black gold of Ugra in the Museum of Geology, Oil and Gas. You will not find an open institution of this kind anywhere else in Russia. A unique collection of minerals, the history of the oil and gas industry, the history of geological exploration, an extensive raw material fund, paleontological finds on the territory of the district, the equipment used in their work by geologists and oil workers – this is only a small part of what you can learn and see in the museum. The museum's collection includes 36,000 exhibits. The museum is ideal for a family visit. It will be interesting for both adults and children, because the expositions use multimedia labels, electronic photo frames, a touch kiosk, and a unique multimedia book, the analogues of which are presented only in two other museums in Russia. And to fully immerse themselves in the atmosphere, it will be useful for children to visit museum and pedagogical excursions, which tell about the chemistry of minerals and even space. All this proves once again that going to the museum is not boring.
